Why we avoid installation, fitting and site work !

We personally believe that, fabrication of our customised products, which requires installation, is our ethical responsibility, however we, regretfully avoid this responsibility, because of below past bad experience :

  1. Installation used as an excuse for not paying 100% order value at delivery time
Most customers, who want their customised product installed, deliberately disagreed to our payment terms later, stating installation as an excuse for non payment of 100 % order value at the time of delivery at our workshop.
Restating, we deliver all our fabricated products ex work or ex factory at our workshop.

Such past experience, was not only disturbing but also forced us to update our payment terms for Fitting / Installation in 2024.

  2. Poor infrastructure support
At Dhanbad, Jharkhand, electrical power cuts are STILL normal. While we do use few power tools with in-built power batteries, many instrument like welding machines still requires customer's premises electrical supply.
With frequent power cuts at working premise, the labour expense rises for both customer and us !

We have power backups at our workshop for un-interrupted work. If the product, requiring servicing, is brought to our workshop, faster job completion is guaranteed !.

  3. Human factor with customer and premises
The most difficult thing we find to handle, is division of our society based on religion and caste. Certain customers, we found, are too biased with this division, which places our staff in extremely awkward situation at their premise.
Some customer's premise too, was not conducive for working properly.

  4. Logistic issues
Many staff, surprisingly, do not know how to ride a bicycle or motor bike, this makes us dependant on local logistics like e-rickshaw and auto, which may not be available till the customer's premise ! This delays transportation and adds to labour expense which makes petty servicing repairs and fitting very expensive at customers premise !

  5. Human factor with staff
We try our best to hire professional, ethical staff which require less monitoring during work, however at site it is very difficult to monitor them and their activities.
While we have developed our own work checklists for site work, ocassionally, some tools gets missed out which hinders in working efficiently at the site.
In past, we also had a bad experience, where our old trusted staff, reported that he was working at customer construction site, only to be later found working somewhere else ! Needless to say, that staff does not work with us any more !
Such unethical behaviour from our staff, stops us from taking site jobs till we monitor / correct this factor completely !

  6. Our technical staff mistaken for daily wage worker
We take pride in our professional work, solely because of our competent staff.
Our staff are long time welders, metal sheet experts and iron fabricators, while some may be illiterate, this does not make them daily wage worker !
In past, some of our customers have requested them to do petty jobs at the working site, not only increasing our staff workload and duration of work, but also lowering our staff morale.

Many situations are never under our control at field / site work, which makes us avoid such works as much as possible.
